His work sits at an unusual seam — the mechanistic depth of academic metabolic biology, an understanding of clinical and translational realities, and the strategic judgment of biotech decision-making — helping deep science become a development, evidence, and positioning decision rather than only a paper.
Ivan's perspective has been shaped by training across several leading metabolic-disease research environments, including the Joslin Diabetes Center / Harvard, UT Health San Antonio, and UT Southwestern. Across these settings, he learned from scientific communities whose work helped define modern diabetes biology, insulin resistance, adipose-tissue biology, β-cell dysfunction, and translational metabolic research.
